Air treatment splits neatly in two. Most of the confusion in this industry comes from pretending it does not.Â
Start with the problem, the way the space is used and whether people will be present during treatment. This page introduces two ranges we supply: PurAire Bipolar Ionisation and ProMedUSA UV Ozone Generators.
We supply both. Which one you need depends on whether there are people in the room, or not.
Empty Room
Method: Ozone treatment
How it works: A strong, short ozone treatment used when the room is empty, followed by allowing the ozone to revert back to Oxygen before people come back in.
Best for: The fastest way to kill tobacco, cooking, rubbish, and renovation smells.
Occupied Room
Method: Bipolar ionisation
How it works: Running gently for a few minutes to freshen a room with our portable units, or silently all day while people are in the room with our FCU or In Duct models.
Best for: Effective, continuous odour removal when you cannot use ozone because people are present.
UV Ozone Generators
Our own range. Built exclusively for us in Vancouver Canada. Built using UV lamps, not metal or ceramic Corona Discharge plates. Eight sizes from 600 mg/h up to 15,000 mg/h.
Why UV lamps instead of plates
Ceramic and titanium plate machines struggle in Singapore. The damp air corrodes the plates, output drops, and titanium plates shed dust you do not want in a building with people in it. Our UV machines keep working up to 98% humidity and from minus then to plus fifty degrees. There are no plates to scrub.Â
Built for people who drop things
Surgical grade 316 stainless steel shock mounted inner chassis. Scratch proof 4mil PVC exterior. Impact absorbing end caps so they survive being knocked by a housekeeping trolley or dropped on a concrete floor. Our Ozone Generators are built to last a decade or more. (Machines we sold in 2013 are still working today). Six years warranty on the units, 2 years Unconditional warranty on the UV tubes. Â

Rough treatment times, in an empty room:
- Standard hotel room — 10 to 15 minutes with an SG600.
- Suite or large room — 15 to 25 minutes with an SG1200.
- Bin room or compactor room — runs continuously.
Then, allow time for the Ozone to revert back to Oxygen before going back into the room

PurAire is ProMedUSA’s specialist air-treatment division. Its range uses glass-tube dielectric barrier discharge, or DBD, bipolar ionisation.

Match the Installation to the Application. Discuss placement, operating instructions and maintenance before installation. Where measurement is requested, agree what will be measured and how the results will be assessed.
Warranty on every PurAire product: two years on the unit, one year on the tube. The tubes are rated for 17,000 hours. We only warrant twelve months because we would rather promise less and deliver more.
And we measure. We own calibrated instruments and we use them — before installation and after, at the same points. An ioniser that has stopped working gives no sign at all. The only way to know is to measure.
Questions People Ask Us
About ten to fifteen minutes with an SG600 MiniPro, in an empty room. Air the room out afterwards, then it is ready to let. Housekeeping teams across Singapore and Malaysia do this every day.
No. Our UV ozone generators are for empty rooms. If you need to treat a room continuously while people are in it, you want bipolar ionisation instead. That is a different technology and we supply both.
It depends on the size of the room and how bad it gets. The SG3000 covers up to 17,000 cubic metres, the SG7000 up to 29,000, and the SG15000 UltraMax up to 70,000. We will come and look before quoting.
Yes, provided the source is gone. Ozone oxidises the smoke residue rather than covering it. If someone smokes in the room again the next day, you are back where you started.
A filter traps particles as air passes through it. Ozone oxidises the smell molecules themselves, including the ones sitting on walls, curtains and carpet. For a stubborn smell, a filter will not get there.
Do not assume so. Ask for a design based on the air-conditioning layout, airflow and the areas that need treatment.
