What is an Absolute Ozone generator?
It is an industrial ozone generator. It takes in pure oxygen and turns part of it into ozone gas. The ozone is then mixed into water, usually through an injector, or piped to where it is needed.

Which models are there?

What is the difference between ATLAS and TITAN?
They cover the same output range. ATLAS sits on a bench or mounts on a wall. TITAN fits a standard 19-inch equipment rack and takes 4U of height
What do LP and UHC mean?
LP means low pressure. An LP model runs at 20 PSIG (about 1.4 bar), so it can work from ordinary oxygen concentrators. UHC means ultra-high concentration. The ATLAS UHC and TITAN UHC make up to 22% ozone by weight, at 20 g/h.
How big is an ATLAS?
About 356 x 381 x 178 mm. That is roughly the size of a desktop printer. [ADD weight once Part 1, item 6 is settled.]
Can I add more output later?
Yes. The units are built to stack and connect together. Systems can be expanded up to 5 kg of ozone per hour or more.
Oxygen, Power and The Room
Does it run on normal air?
No. It needs a supply of pure oxygen. Most sites use an oxygen concentrator, which makes oxygen from room air.
How much oxygen does it need?
Less than most generators, because it makes a higher concentration of ozone. An ATLAS 30 needs about 4 litres of oxygen per minute, so one oxygen concentrator is usually enough. An ATLAS 60 LP runs from two concentrators working together.
What is the difference between ATLAS 60 and ATLAS 60 LP?
Both make 60 g/h. The standard ATLAS 60 runs at 30 to 45 PSIG (about 2 to 3 bar) and needs an industrial oxygen system with an air compressor. The ATLAS 60 LP runs at 20 PSIG (about 1.4 bar) from two ordinary oxygen concentrators, which costs less to set up.
Does it need cooling water?
No. All models are air-cooled. There is no chiller, cooling water or water treatment to run.
What kind of room does it need?
A clean, dry, well-ventilated room kept at 20 to 22°C. In Singapore that means an air-conditioned plant room. If the room gets too hot, the generator lowers its power on its own to protect itself.
What power supply does it need?
Single-phase 220 to 230 V, which is standard in Singapore and Malaysia. [ADD the current for each model we offer, once Part 1, item 3 is settled.]
What else is needed to put ozone into water?
An ozone-resistant flow meter, an anti-flood device with a check valve, an injector to mix the gas into the water, and a contact tank. An ozone destructor on the vent line is recommended. Every part that touches ozone must be ozone-resistant. [CONFIRM what ProMedUSA supplies as a package.]
Controls and Safety
How do I control it?
A 5-inch touchscreen shows voltage, current, power, gas pressure and the temperature inside the ozone cell. You switch it on and off and set the power on the screen. It also takes a 4-20 mA signal, so a plant control system can run it.
What happens if something goes wrong?
The generator shuts itself down and the screen shows the cause, such as low gas pressure, high temperature or wrong voltage. It keeps checking, and restarts on its own once the problem is fixed.
Is ozone gas dangerous?
Yes, at the strength these machines make. The gas must stay inside sealed, ozone-resistant lines. Any leftover gas should be vented through an ozone destructor. We recommend an ozone monitor in the room. [CONFIRM we supply monitors with these systems.]
Performance
What does % by weight mean?
It is how much of the gas coming out is ozone, by weight. A higher percentage means more ozone in every litre of oxygen.
Why does a higher concentration matter?
When ozone gas is more concentrated, more of it dissolves into water. That is basic physics, known as Henry’s law. It also means you need less oxygen to deliver the same amount of ozone.
Why do the output and concentration figures change?
They trade off against each other. Low oxygen flow gives the highest concentration but less ozone per hour. Full flow gives the most ozone per hour at a lower concentration. For example, an ATLAS 30C gives 16.4% at 0.5 litres per minute, and 29.3 g/h at 9.2% at 4 litres per minute. Absolute Ozone tested these at 20°C after 30 minutes of running.
