SG-WDS In-Line Ozonated Water Systems
The SG-WDS fits onto the cold water pipe that feeds a tap, a hose or an ice machine. As the water flows through it the SG-WDS turns the ordinary tap water into ozonated water. There are no chemicals to buy, mix or store.
There are 3 models. The SG-WDS/ICE model is made for commercial ice machines. The SG-WDS feeds up to two taps. The SG-WDS MAX feeds up to four taps.

ppm means parts per million. It shows how much ozone is dissolved in the water. The level you get depends on how fast the water is flowing. Ozone made is plus or minus 10%. All figures are from Biosure.

SGS tested ozonated water at 1.5 ppm from the SG-WDS. After 15 seconds, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, MRSA and the yeast Candida albicans were below the level the lab can detect. E. coli and Salmonella were reduced by more than 99.99%. These results were measured in a lab, not in a working kitchen.
Where the SG-WDS Is Used
- Commercial ice machines. The SG-WDS/ICE treats the water going in, to help stop slime building up inside the machine.
- Kitchen prep sinks, for rinsing fruit, vegetables, chopping boards and utensils.
- Wash-down hoses in kitchens, bin centres and back-of-house areas.
- Hand-wash basins in kitchens.
- Drinks and chilled water dispensers.
- Commercial washing machines in hotels and laundries.
How the SG-WDS Works
- Tap water flows into the unit from the water pipe.
- Inside is a small cell. A low electric current turns some of the water into ozone.
- The ozone dissolves straight into the water. This is called electrolytic ozone generation.
- Ozonated water comes out of your tap, hose or ice machine.
- The unit only runs when water is flowing.
- After use, the ozone turns back into oxygen. No chemical is left behind.
Which SG-WDS Model Do I Need?
- One ice machine making up to 317 kg of ice a day: SG-WDS/ICe
- One ice machine making up to 816 kg of ice a day: SG-WDS/ICE.
- One or two kitchen taps, or one hose: SG-WDS.
- Three or four taps, or a busy wash-down hose: SG-WDS MAX.
Warranty on the SG-WDS Range
The SG-WDS range carries a 1 year warranty on the unit. The ozone cell cartridge wears out with use after 1,000 hours of water flowing through it and is replaced as normal servicing, so it is not covered. Warranty claims are handled in Singapore by ProMedUSA.

Tap water with ozone dissolved in it. Ozone is a very active form of oxygen. It reacts with bacteria and dirt, then turns back into ordinary oxygen.

In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration allows ozone to be used on food to reduce germs. This is US rule 21 CFR 173.368, from 2001. It is a rule about ozone, not an approval of any machine.
